Clamping an irregular shape usually requires a lot of ingenuity, but here’s a novel approach: Elmer’s new Clamp Tape. It stretches up to 300%, like a giant rubber band, and sticks only to itself—not to wood or a finish.
I’ve found that Clamp Tape is best used for holding parts in position once you push them home, like the table leg shown above. It can’t deliver nearly as much pressure as a metal clamp, but it can sure bail you out of a head-scratching situation.
Clamp Tape is 3/4″ wide and comes in a 7-1/2′ roll. The parts that are stuck together can’t be reused, but you can cut them out and save the rest.
