The second session of Shop Class On Demand,SketchUp for Woodworkers, Part 2, Advanced Techniques is now available for immediate download in our store. If you’ve worked your way through Part 1, you can now continue to learn how to use Google’s SketchUp (a free download) to model your next project with speed and accuracy. We’ve heard lots of good comments from those of you who have tried Part 1, and we think you will enjoy Part 2 just as much.

In this nearly two-hour long video, I show you techniques for adding details to your models. Want to include raised panel doors with cope-and-stick joints to your project? It’s easier than you think. How about dovetailed drawers? You’ll learn the secrets of making the first part of the joint quickly, then copying those dovetails everywhere you need them. The class also covers things like turned parts and cabriole legs. Unlike other videos for learning SketchUp, these videos are presented by a woodworker, and concentrate on making woodworking projects. Click below to see a preview of this session.

Here’s what one viewer had to say, “Bob Lang is the ideal teacher for this. His instructions are simple, easy to follow, fascinating and devoid of any narcissistic nonsense. I took some of the Lynda.com lessons in SketchUp, but this is much more valuable for woodworking. Well worth the money.”
