I finished yesterday fitting the three bottom drawers to the Campaign Secretary I’m building and I started in on building the gallery – it’s all dovetailed now.
I’d be quite happy with my progress if I weren’t about to get into a car. For the next 10 days I’ll be on the road, taping a couple episodes of “The Woodwright’s Shop” with Roy Underhill, teaching a class in making “The Anarchist’s Tool Chest” at his school and teaching another class at the Woodcraft in Atlanta.
I believe I’ll also be giving a free lecture next Saturday night (Feb. 25) at that Woodcraft. Call the Woodcraft store for details. They usually have food, so even if you mean to throw the food at me, it should be a good time for all.
When I return, I’ll have about three weeks to complete the gallery, install the hardware and finish the project before the March 15 deadline.

Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
I like how you used continuous grain along the side, very nice!
which woodcraft?
Looks great so far, but it’s hard for me to vision what it’s going to look like in the end. If you have a “Finished project design” sketch, I sure would like to see it.
Chris,
I see eckmane beat me to the question of questions. What is the rationale for no half pin on the bottom of each drawer. Are you just trying to throw us off?? Great dovetails, all in all.
Best,
Lee
Easy as cake.
Chris, it’s interesting how you dovetailed the drawers. What’s the reason for having a half tail vs. a half pin on the bottom of each drawer?
Beautiful work!
