The four uprights and the four fixed shelves are ready, except for the width of the shelves. I must wait until the back rabbets are done to take the exact measurement.

 

I will make the dadoes in the uprights of both hutches in pair, in one operation, so they will be aligned. Note that I clamped the pieces together so they won’t shift during the process.

 

 

This is the dado jig I’m using to mill the dadoes. I place one shelf against the already installed side of the jig and I clamp the other side very tight against the shelf.
