General International recently introduced the new model 90-170 M1 Deluxe 14" wood cutting band saw. Featuring a one-piece heavy duty steel frame and dynamically balanced 14” cast-iron wheels, the new 90-170M1 offers a full 12” depth of cut, making it ideal for both general purpose shop uses as well as for re-sawing.
Weighing in at a very sturdy 293 lbs the 90-170M1 is equipped with a 1.5 HP dual voltage TEFC that is factory wired for 110V 14A operation. A simple belt and pulley system allows for easy selection between either the 2300 or 3250 FPM blade speeds for excellent results in either hard or soft woods.
The 90-170M1 has a large 16” x 20” full cast iron table that tilts 10° left and 45° right, upper and lower deluxe ball bearing blade guides, a rack and pinion controlled telescoping upper guide and guard system, quick release blade tension lever, and dual 4” dust ports. The unit is also equipped with the new Excalibur deluxe band saw rip fence system; onboard storage mounts for both the rip fence and the supplied miter gauge, a quick release blade tension lever for fast easy blade changes and a large easy access paddle style stop switch with a 2 step safety lock-out to prevent accidental or unintentional start-up.
