Snag-Free Hose

By Peter Natoli

I love using dust collection with my orbital sander, but the hose always caught on the edge of my workbench. I fixed this problem by suspending the hose and cord using a 1-in.-wide cloth strap with some Velcro on the ends. One strap end is attached to a hook in the ceiling above my workbench. The other end loops around the dust hose and the power cord. I also made short sections of strapping to hold the power cord to the hose at a couple other spots. Cloth strap and Velcro are available at fabric or department stores.
