IWF, August 24-27 in Atlanta.

If you are a serious woodworker (even if you aren’t that good yet), and you’re looking for an unbelievable woodworking experience, let me suggest that you consider attending the International Woodworking Fair this summer in Atlanta. Words can’t adequately describe it. It’s HUUUUUGE – more than 1,000 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees. The only way you could possibly walk the entire floor would be if you didn’t stop to look at anything, and no woodworker could do that.

IWF is held in the Georgia World Congress Center near downtown Atlanta in late August every even-numbered year. This year it is August 24 to 27. The show began as an industry trade show but has expanded to include many of the companies we deal with and many additional categories – for example 3D printing.

But it’s the industry exhibitors that are the most interesting anyway, with all the high-tech displays and demonstrations. “Untouched by human hands.”

IWF is also cheap, just $30 for all four days. But, of course, there may be travel and hotel expenses.

Editor’s note: Look for Rodney Wilson and Jon Russelburg from Popular Woodworking Magazine at IWF. And if you’re looking for a combo experience of machines, hand tools, 400 of your closest woodworking friends and 50+ education sessions, check out WIA at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center September 16-18…
