Next week (Jan. 24-27, specifically) the first online class from Popular Woodworking and me (Chuck Bender) will take place. We’ll be building a Shaker Lap Desk in four pre-recorded sessions. Registration closes this coming Monday (Jan. 21) so sign up today!

The registrants are already actively asking questions and interacting in the discussion forum. I’ve received questions regarding the types of materials they want to use, but the hottest topic is the lid hinges. The great thing about this project is, all the materials can be purchased at your local home center or hardware store for around $30. We’re using some clear white pine, some small hinges and knobs. That’s it!

This is a great little project to kick up your woodworking skills. The best part is, during the four days the class takes place, there will be live Q&A sessions so you can get the individualized help you need. I’ve already mentioned the discussion board where folks who’ve already registered for the class are asking questions. If you don’t have time to participate in all the live sessions, they’ll be available to you in recorded form. If you miss this class you’ll regret it. Sign up now!

Beautiful project, but my first reading of the title convinced me that I’m in desperate need of professional help … Shaker Lap Dance Class.
