MORE OFFCUTS OF TIMBER LYING AROUND IN WORKSHOP.SO HAD A BIT OF TIME TO MAKE THESE ON THE LATHE. MIXTURE OF YEW / MAHOGANY/ AND ASH BLOCKS I FOUND!!. THE PIECE ON THE  RIGHT!! TIMBER HAD TO BE CUT INTO 1 1/2 X 1 INCH X 4 INCHES LONG,THEN MITRED ON BENCH SAW TO ANGLES TO MAKE PIECE ROUND.PUT IDEA  ON PAPER FIRST SO I GOT ANGLES RIGHT,BEFORE I GLUED IT TO A CIRCULAR PATTERN.THEN TURNED ON THE LATHE ,WITH LID TO MATCH ALSO TURNED ON LATHE. THIS WAS SCREWED TO THE FACE PLATE B4 TURNING.AND WAXED AND POLISHED ALL IN ONE GO..THE PIECE ON THE LEFT WAS A 4 1/ 4 INCH X 4 1/4 INCH X 3 INCH HIGH BLOCK OF YEW.TO TURN THESE I USED THE BASIC TURNING TOOLS.WITH THE THE HELP  OF A CARBIDE TIP TURNING TOOL I MADE TO GET THE FINISHING TOUCHES,B4 WAXING.
