THESE I MADE FROM  1/4 X 1/4 INCH RUSSIAN PINE.. USED A PIN CHUCK IN MY PEDESTAL DRILL AND A GROUND FILE  WHICH I USE AS TURNING TOOLS! TO TURN IT. THEN A 1/16th DRILL BIT WHICH WATCH MAKERS USE TO DRILL CENTRE. INSERTED LEAD , NOW WE HAVE MINI PENCILS FOR MUNCHKINS.?? THESE ARE ONLY 1 1/8 INCH LONG.. FOR ALL MY MEASUREMENTS ON ANY SIZE PIECE OR PROJECT I DO I ALWAYS USE A DIGITAL VERNIER AND THE BEST OF THE BEST IS THE MITUTOYO DIGIMATIC CALIPER. I  HAVE HAD MINE NOW FOR 22 YEARS,AND EACH YEAR I GET IT CALIBRATED. I WILL ALWAYS GET MY PLUS AND MINUS ON ANY MATERIALS SOMETIMES IF I MAKE A CERTAIN PIECE OF FURNITURE FOR A CUSTOMER AND THEY WANT IT NEAR ON SPOT ON I WILL USE VERNIER THEN EXPLAIN I HAVE A TOLERANCE OF PLUS OR MINUS 1/16 OR 1/8 ,FOR EXAMPLE IF I MAKE LEGS FOR A TABLE ON LATHE I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET TO THOSES SIZES PLUS OR MINUS.AS I DO NOT HAVE A COPY LATHE.EVEN IF I DID? THERE WILL STILL BE A PLUS OR MINUS IN TIMBER ANY TIMBER.!!!.IT IS ALWAYS HANDY TO OWN A  DIGITAL VERNIER AS YOU HAVE MM AND INCHES DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR WORKIN IN AT THE TIME.
