You can now register for Woodworking in America 2011, our annual gathering of hardcore, passionate woodworkers who want to learn everything there is to know about the craft.
The conference runs Sept. 30 – Oct. 2 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Ky. – directly across the river from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.
We are hoping this will be our biggest Woodworking in America (WIA for short) ever. We have hired more speakers than ever before. We have booked extra classrooms. We have planned more evening activities.
Will we sell out? The chances look pretty good.
If you are on the fence about attending, let me give you two good reasons to register now and skip your daughter’s wedding/elective cosmetic surgery/dung art class that you had planned for that weekend.
1. You will save money. Right now the conference is $355 for the whole kit and kaboodle. In August the price goes up to $395.
2. You won’t get closed out of the evening activities. We have lots of fun dinners planned with different themes. They fill up fast. Don’t be the only one stuck having to eat at the Arby’s in Covington. Alone.
And yes, even though I’m leaving as editor of the magazine (tomorrow!), I’m still teaching at WIA and my company, Lost Art Press, will have a booth in the Marketplace. So stop by. And remember: Even though I’m leaving this job, I still love free beer.

Here are some supplies and tools we find essential in our everyday work around the shop. We may receive a commission from sales referred by our links; however, we have carefully selected these products for their usefulness and quality.
And remember that Megan, who is not leaving tomorrow, likes free wine. And vodka.
I’d rather have a free bottle in front of me than a pre-frontal lobotomy.
