I don’t believe I’ve yet written about the recent award I won for my (lack of) design prowess – probably because I’m mildly ashamed. But only mildly, because it was for a piece I built in 1989, when to me all problems looked like a screw because all I had was a drill. And I won an awesome stuffed bunny, which I keep at my desk.

Yes, I am the not-so-proud winner of the Bridge City Toolworks annual Sh!t Bunny Award. You can read more about it on John Economaki’s blog, and indulge in a bit of woodworking schadenfreude.

p.s. If you do amble over to John’s blog, be sure to also read his entry about Woodworking in America – he’s looking for volunteers.

    1. You started a project.
    2. You finished the project.
    3. You put it to use.
    4. You’re still using it for its intended purpose.

I’d call that a successful project.

I’ll bet the other one doesn’t jump on her bench or shill extra tools.

Looking at your early work – practical and functional
Looking at the joint stool – learning craftsmanship
