On Sunday, July 22, my friend Paul Dzioba and I will be demonstrating the execution of mid century joinery in one of the finest houses in North America.

Mount Pleasant was built 1762-1765 by Master Builder Thomas Nevell. The house was owned initially by a Scottish Privateer, then briefly by Benedict Arnold. As you can see, the woodwork is fabulous.

This is a special event, to some extent a celebration of the of the structural repairs recently completed. The period furniture, usually present, was removed for the repair work and has not yet been replaced. This offers we woodworkers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with real 18th c woodwork.

Geez Louise–I’m jealous! So many times I have wished to be on that side of the country. one of these days. In the meantime, have a great time. Wish I could visit while you both were there. Wonderful looking work.

    Take care, Mike
