An Interview with Sam Maloof
An Interview with Sam Maloof
May 26, 2009
by Bill Farnsworth Summary For the June/July 1982 issue of Pacific Woodworker – the magazine that would eventually become Popular Woodworking – Bill Farnsworth interviewed woodworking legend Sam Maloof. Maloof died on May 21, 2009, at the age of 93. He spent more than 60 of those years working with wood, and his legacy lives on in his distinct style, and in pieces that are in the White House and in major museums. Perhaps his greatest legacy, however, is that when people talk about Sam Maloof, the words that usually come to mind are kind, generous and down-to-earth.
We've posted a pdf of Farnsworth's interview below. Click here for PDF file. |
